The Attentional Mixer

چکیده
In this paper, we describe the Attentional Mixer, a system that uses attention cues to selectively amplify stimuli in a user’s environment. Using a number of diffuse infrared beacons and a focused infrared receiver, the system detects head orientation and uses this information to adjust the mix of a multi-part musical piece. The simple hardware and software setup provides a new and effective way to present information in entertainment, communication and educational scenarios.
